Myth #8 – Introverts are aloof nerds.
Introverts are people who primarily look inward, paying close attention to their thoughts and emotions. It’s not that they are incapable of paying attention to what is going on around them, it’s just that their inner world is much more stimulating and rewarding to them.
This cannot be said enough. I mentioned this in Part 5 about how I can tune everything out. I can escape into my own little world and get lost daydreaming. When I was younger I often come up with these crazy adventures inside my own head. It’s so much more fun than the real world.
As I have gotten older these fantasies of mine are not as adventurous but I still reenact different scenarios and and imagine different outcomes.
This is part of why I love to read. It stimulates my mind and I can escape into the story and create the world the author describes. I play the story in my mind like a movie then later I re-live it again and again and come up with my own tangents.
It sounds weird when I put it into words but I love that aspect of me.
