Fare thee well, Winter. Until your return I will think of you.
The warm weather is here, at least in most of the US, and with it comes the end of the cold weather. I enjoy the winter months. I love snow and bundling up in layers.
One of my favorite things about cold weather is something most people hate: the extra time it takes to warm up a car. Crazy, right? I mean we have place to go. I can’t wait around until my car gets warm?!?
However, it’s a perfectly prepared introvert getaway. A ready-made excuse to spend some time alone. I want my car to last so I make sure my car is warm before I leave and that give me 10-15 minutes on cold days that I can be alone, pull out my phone, and open Aldiko, and enjoy a good book.sadf
I was thinking about this the other day. It was 80-90 degree weather and I went somewhere. About four hours later I returned to my car and instinctively pulled out my phone so I could read while my car warmed up. However, in that time, my car did not cool down at all. It was still at the operating temperature giving me no time to read without wasting gas or sitting in a hot car.
Now there are plenty of other ways I can make time to read throughout the day, but winter offers that time without trying.
